My challenge with PADLET
Let me briefly explain the situation to give you a broader perspective. I am very, very bad with technology.
Today I want to tell you about my experience with Padlet. I will try to give you some idea about how you can use it in your English lessons.
1) First of all, the application is very easy, even I understood it. If you want, you can become a member and use the 30-day free trial version for teachers. But you can also benefit from many different features without paying a fee.
2) So what is a padlet? padlet is a digital board. Let's underline the word digital, it has different features from the normal board. For example, you can add videos, add links and switch to another application, which you cannot do from a regular clipboard.
3) I also want to say that there is no use of materials. Forget about the materials used to make an old-fashioned board. You can choose the theme you want, the image, and easily draw the attention of your students to the point you want. One last thing that I would like to add is that you don't even have to be in the class to be able to use this app.
Okaay... let's talk about how can we use Padlet effectively. We can use Padlet for lots of different activities. First of all time management is a very big issue for us teachers. Padlet enables you pre-prepare your lessons, activities, tasks etc. and have it ready to go for your lesson.
Also if you are not using the paid version and are a user of the free version you can create up to three Padlet boards. But no need to worry yo can erase one and continue to use. Only poblem you can not save your lessons and reuse them. How can we use padlet in class ?
There are many many ways.
💡 I would like to give the examples that I think are useful. But the sky is the limit you can use it however you like.
First one is creating timelines ⌛ it is so much easier with padlet. You can choose different layouts as an English teacher sometimes it can be difficult to explain times and tenses to students especially different past tenses in English. Padlet is great tool for that.
Also you can use a padlet board as a map.
Which is very useful for teaching in every subject.
Another great example is debates or discussions. You can ask questions make students to pick sides and find documents videos and photos for their claim. Every student can make comments for other sides arguments.
You can use it to display students works and share with their parents.
Assign lessons or homeworks for students.
AAANNNNDDD I saved the best two for the end.
💡 First of all you can use it to get feedbacks from your students. Which is crucial for every lesson in my opinion. They do not need to display their names.
💡 In addition to that you can use it for planning. Which is very helpful when you have a loot of students. My teachers are using it like that and I think it is without question the easiest way to do that. Why not the best sure you can use excel and create tables etc etc but who is going to do that. Not meeee !
Thats it for Padlet!
if you have any questions comment below, Ill try to answer or if I cant I will address you to someone who can.
I am leaving some links which I found ver useful while I was learning padlet.
