I SAW THE SEESAW

Seesaw is a platform for student engagement that inspires and motivates students of all ages to do their best! Students use creative tools to take pictures, draw, record videos and more to capture learning in a portfolio. Teachers find or create activities to share with students. Students explore a variety of powerful and intuitive tools (like draw+record, collage, video, and more!) to show what they know in the way that works best for them. We, as a school have decided to avail of this platform to enhance our “Home Learning”. Teachers will post activities for pupils to complete in their own creative way.

I hope that you are as enthusiastic as we are in this new online journey. To Access Seesaw simply…

  1. Open up school website page.
  2. Access the Parents Area – Home Learning Page.
  3. Click on the year group and open the folder with Seesaw log in codes.
  4. Take a note of your child’s unique log in code or QR code for SeeSaw.
  5. Open SeeSaw Class app or search through your web browser for SeeSaw class (Please avoid the Seesaw Family option at the minute).
  6. Once you open the seesaw app click on the blue button which says I am a student.
  7. The student sign in will appear. If you have your child’s QR code, then hold it up and scan it. If you have your child’s code, then type it in.
  8. You will be automatically logged into your child’s class page.

Workload Expectations

When you are properly up and running in the class SeeSaw app, you can access the activities posted by the class teacher.  Try it all or select what suits you best and send back any two pieces of work to the class teacher by the end of the week. Teachers will be looking forward to seeing your contributions and providing feedback.

I realise that children of Key workers may need may not be able to adhere to a specific timetable or complete some of the activities.  Select what suits you best and remember to keep the learning experiences fun and stress free.

Our whole school community is behind you and we want to thank you for everything you are doing.

I ask you not to exceed the two posts per child as we do not wish to overload the system. In time we plan to assess the impact of SeeSaw and how our children are using it. I will keep you informed of any changes and any updates.

Safeguarding

All the work and comments are safe within the SeeSaw app. Every piece of work forwarded to their teacher will only be seen by the teacher (unless the teacher opens it up to the students as a privilege). I trust and remind everyone that the safe use of this app must be respected. Therefore, teacher comments and children’s work should not be screenshot and shared on social media.

Home Learning

This new SeeSaw platform is the next step and as we move forward, we gain confidence using the digital platforms which ultimately will provide our children with the necessary skills to use ICT as an effective tool to enhance their learning.

Please continue to work through the home learning packs and the resources available to you on our school website.  If you need anything from teachers and staff, please do not hesitate to contact via email or telephone.

JOURNI STARTS NOW

Journi is a travel journal app that lets you record memories of your trips by uploading pictures with captions. These pictures are then integrated into beautifully designed maps and timelines, that the user has access to. Whether a single traveler, or a family trip, the memories stored can be edited, and shared with family and friends.

Journi is a simple app, that allows you to easily upload pictures with notes that are then stored in albums. This allows users to create various albums (or Journis) for different events, or trips, to create an organized storage of the memories. The app then arranges these memories in a timeline that can be shared, or kept private, all depending on the settings chosen by the user. Journi Blog also takes advantage of the geolocation of your photos and uses it to create roadmaps with pins of the places you have visited. There is also an option to have personalized print products from your memories, with one click.
